Blue Jays Batting Surge Six Run First Inning Vs Phillies

Blue Jays' Bats Erupt in Six-Run First Inning Against Phillies

Jays' Offensive Onslaught

The Toronto Blue Jays continued their offensive surge on Tuesday night, exploding for six runs in the first inning of their game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. led off the inning with a double, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. followed with a walk. Teoscar Hernandez then drove in Gurriel with a single, and George Springer extended the lead with a two-run homer.

Matt Chapman singled in Hernandez, and Santiago Espinal capped the scoring with an RBI double. The six-run outburst gave the Blue Jays an early 6-0 lead.

Phillies Unable to Keep Pace

The Phillies were unable to keep pace with the Blue Jays' offense, as they managed just one run off of Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman in the first four innings.

The Phillies finally got on the board in the fifth inning on a solo home run by Kyle Schwarber, but the Blue Jays added two more runs in the sixth inning to extend their lead to 8-1.

Blue Jays' Win Streak Continues

The Blue Jays' win streak now stands at four games, and they have won nine of their last 11 games.

The Blue Jays are now 18-13 on the season, and they are in first place in the American League East.
